It is quite possible that the first contact you have with MPS would be at the Recruitment Fairs or talks given by a member of MPS staff and held in your University or College.

The student information sheet that you gave us forms the basis for developing a professional relationship between you and MPS. Further information will be required and, after an informal chat, used to introduce you to client schools that may be seeking your subject or Key Stage.

The following procedures take place after initial contact has been made with you:

1. Within two weeks of your University Fair, a member of staff from MPS will telephone and talk to you in more detail about the Permanent Scheme.
2. You will be asked to complete the CV form on the MPS Website at www.mps.ltd.com or you will be asked to send your CV to the office. You can also Email it to chris@mps-ltd-education.com
3. In most circumstances, MPS is given sole responsibility for filling teaching jobs in its partner schools, in which case the competition for a job is reduced, but it is up to the school to decide how many people it wants to consider and interview.
4. All teachers will be asked to teach a sample lesson, lasting between thirty minutes and one hour, depending upon the school. The lesson detail will be given at least one week before your visit to the school and interview.
5. If you are successful, then you will be asked to sign a contract on the day of appointment. This means that you are contracted to that school for at least one term but, in your own career interests, you should stay for a minimum of one year. In the case of teachers from the Republic of Ireland, this is a new procedure. Please DO NOT look for other jobs in Ireland or the UK — you already have one!
6. Irish and other EU teachers have to complete form EU1 upon accepting a job, so that QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) can be granted. This takes time, so please complete it and send it off straight away. This could affect your pay!
7. Non-EEA/EU recognised teachers will need a work permit and this must be applied for by the school, not yourself. As long as your qualifications are accepted in the UK, a work permit for teachers will not be difficult to obtain.
